The Marshall AVT range is a superb combination of modern solid state technology and traditional valve amplification.

The pre-amp stage of these amps, the area where the majority of your tone is generated, is valve driven, as would be expected in all-valve amplification, although these amps use a solid state, transistor based power stage.

This clever blend offers you the warmth, richness and depth of tone that only valves can offer but massively reduces the maintenence requirements and improves reliability.

The Marshall AVT20 offers you 20 watts of the World famous Marshall tone, producing wonderfully rich cleans and when driving the pre-amp stage (ie turn the gain up!) on this channel you can acheive a beautiful valve overdrive reminiscent of the `low` volume tones of their World famous Plexi amps.

Switching to the overdrive channel you are met with a tremendous roaring overdrive which happily runs into a super heavy saturated distortion suitable for all types of heavy rock and metal - use the scoop switch for true METAL riffing tone!
